Birmingham’s Newest Addition
So, I’ve been spending quite a few of my lunch breaks at the new Railroad Park downtown. One of the coolest and hardest to miss features of the park is the mini skatepark toward the west end of the park. I say hardest to miss because if you’re walking around the park, the path literally goes straight through the three bowls. This only adds to the entertainment as older couples flinch their way through the action and as families drag their kids along the path because the kids can’t help but ooh and ah at the tricks the big kids are trying out. More on the big kid stuff in a bit. Anyway, I’ve never attempted to shoot anything like this, so I really didn’t know what protocol was, but I had to give it a shot. Pretty pleased with my first go, and it won’t be my last.
Needless to say, it’s easy to get in the way of these guys, so I just found a place out of the way and stayed there.
So about the big kids, this was not one of them. But you wouldn’t have been able to tell by the way he fit in with guys twice his age and size. Definitely knew his way around.
