Had the pleasure of being invited by Nike to the US Women’s National Team Home Kit launch. Big thanks to @nikesoccer.
A month ago, I was afforded the opportunity to go to Portland for the MLS All-Star Match against Bayern Munich because of my job. While we were there, our adidas rep informed us that we would be able to go to a media event with players from Bayern Munich. Many of these players were just coming off of a World Cup win with Germany. I still can’t believe that I got to be in the same room on adidas’ campus with seven of the world’s best soccer players. Amazing.
I’m not sure if the title is more of a reference of the campaign by Nike promoting the new USA Third Jersey or a reference to how I felt trying to shoot the match from the pitch next to photographers with lenses as long as my arm. Either way, after a little getting used to, this was quite the experience. Our company happens to have a news site that enabled me to get a media pass to the USA v Paraguay match in Nashville on Tuesday. I felt a little out of place, but I just tried to fit in and make the best out of my lack of equipment. It was a ton of fun and quite a learning experience.
So, I’ve been spending quite a few of my lunch breaks at the new Railroad Park downtown. One of the coolest and hardest to miss features of the park is the mini skatepark toward the west end of the park.
